The current series has seen a drop in ratings when compared to Love Island Last June, series five broke records when its debut episode brought in an impressive 3. Not only was this ITV2’s highest-ever opening, but it also topped the previous summer’s Love Island premiere, which boasted an average of 2. About 2. However, this was still miles above the first three series since Love Island ‘s reboot via BBC News , which up until now had been steadily increasing year on year.
